CAMBRIDGE CURRICUlum

IGCSE level to AS & A level

Cambridge International is part of the world famous Cambridge University in the United Kingdom – one of the oldest universities in the world. Cambridge International offers an internationally recognized school leaving qualification by universities around the world. “Cambridge International helps students become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. Ready to tackle the demands of tomorrow’s world, capable of shaping a better world for the future.”

Here at Grace Trinity School for Girls we offer the Cambridge International Education curriculum from IGCSE level to AS & A level. Learners entering into their Grade 9 year are given the choice whether they would like to choose to continue their education with the IEB curriculum or move over to the Cambridge curriculum. Those learners taking the Cambridge curriculum will complete the IGCSE level over 24 months followed by AS level and A level over 12 months respectively.

The Cambridge curriculum encourages learners to take more responsibility for their learning and they are required to do independent work during a large portion of their school hours. This requires self-discipline and the ability to manage their time well in order to keep up with their learning.Once learners complete either AS level or A level they would be able to apply for a Matric Exemption through Universities South Africa (USAf) in order to apply at a South African University. If a learner would like to study internationally most international institutions require them to complete their education at A level.
