2022 APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN
Encouraging and facilitating a sisterhood is very important to us!
We strive to provide a variety of programmes and activities that focus on the development of our girls’ social interaction with each other.
Our Sisterhood programme provides the opportunity for our older girls to mentor and guide their ''little sisters''. Meeting once a week with their assigned class, they are able to create special bonds, encourage and support each other.
Providing mentorship for the younger grades enables personal growth and responsibility for our Big Sisters within the school.
Grade 8 - 12 learners are introduced to our unique Home Group system which acts as their traditional ''register class''.
With a variety of ages in each group, our girls are encouraged to support and guide each other throughout their High School career with the help and mentorship of their Home Group teacher.
These little families check in with each other at the start of every school day, encouraging warmth and friendship and close ties between school and home. The Home Group teacher is the link between parents and school.
The first year of High School can be scary at times. We aim to give our Grade 8 learners the opportunity to feel safe and comfortable by connecting them with a Matric student at the beginning of the year.
Through mentorship socials and personal connection, we encourage our Matrics to be a helping hand to their Grade 8 mentee.
Our school mascot, the wolf, holds characteristics and personality traits that we aim to instill in the lives of our learners.
A wolf pack, led by a female alpha, is a perfect team. They sleep, hunt, eat, learn and play together. They have unlimited patience and never ending curiosity. They desire to work as a team with robust strategy and careful planning. Their young walk towards the front, making sure no one is left behind. If one member of the pack seems to be lagging, the rest of the pack gives her a chance to catch up. Their unity is their strength.
Here at Grace, our pack is unique and diverse. We strive to instill patience, curiosity, teamwork, careful planning and compassion within our girls. Leading each other and never leaving anyone behind is our strength!
Our Grade 8 learners are welcomed to the pack after a weekend away, learning about the values we hold as a team.
They receive their mascot and sing the Gracie Girl song, joined by the rest of the pack, with pride and excitement! This is where sisterhood begins.
